Ease of Website Navigation is Vital to Web Marketing Success

Ease of Website Navigation is Vital to Web Marketing Success

By now you’ve likely spent time developing your SEO and marketing plan to drive more traffic to your site. But have you given any thought to what your new visitors do once they get to your home page? Getting web traffic to your site is only part one of converting visitors to clients. The next part is making sure they know what to do and where to go once they’re on your site.

During the design phase of your website, consider the ease of website navigation. If you don’t have a clear vision of what you want visitors to accomplish once they get on your home page, you’re going to lose their interest quickly. Your navigation needs to be clear, prominent, and have a purpose.

There are many ways you might accomplish good navigation – menus, drop-downs, call-to-action buttons, pop-ups, sliders. Depending on your site’s purpose you may use only one or a combination of these. Every site will be different, but the main goal is to get your visitors to a particular goal – make a purchase, fill out a contact form, give your business a call.

Remember that your navigation needs to be straight to the point. If you have one main goal – say, to fill out your contact form – make that a focal point of the page. Put that form front and center, keep the text around it short and sweet, and make the submit button hard to ignore.
